DEWEYVILLE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES THURSDAY, AUGUST 12, 2010 7:00 P.M. DEWEYVILLE TOWN HALL
Attendance: Robert Thayne, Mayor Lynn Stewart, CM Eric Page, CM Todd Bingham, CM Sherie Goring, CM Tracie Williams, Town Clerk
MOTION: Council member Goring made a motion to accept the Deweyville Town Council Meeting Minutes for Thursday July 8. Council member Stewart seconded the motion. Motion passes unanimously. 4. Planning and Zoning Review: Mayor discussed the Planning Commission meeting minutes. There were not enough members to vote, and there was a discussion of Kent McMurdie’s Conditional Use Permit with Derek living in a fifth wheel trailer and using a 10 ft. well for water for cleaning and drink bottled water. This might have to go to the Health Dept. It was discussed that the town go back and work on the town Trailer Ordinance again. The Planning Commission is meeting on August 18. Town Council needs to approve and vote on the Mr. McMurdie’s Conditional Use Permit so it was suggested to meet after the Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
New Business:
5. PROPOSED ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION 8-10-05; A RESOLUTION OF THE DEWEYVILLE TOWN COUNCIL ESTABLISHING FEES REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF DEWEYVILLE. Council member Goring said that she will check other towns for their rates for grave purchases and opening and closing of the graves. She will also look at a penalty fee for businesses not applying for a business license and put this on the application. The Water Ordinance needs to reference fees resolution. This resolution can be passed tonight and do a new resolution later if needed.
MOTION: Council member Goring made a motion to pass Resolution #8-10-05; A Resolution of the Deweyville Town Council Establishing Fees Required for Certain Services and Activities Conducted within the Corporate Limits of the Town of Deweyville with the changes that have been discussed and approved.. 6. Kent McMurdie Subdivision Approval and Conditional Use Permit: The Council looked at the subdivision map. UDOT approved driveway access is in the middle of the four lots. Mr. McMurdie will need to come to the meeting on Wednesday night so he will need to be on the agenda and the Council will need to look at the UDOT road access map before they are able to vote on the Subdivision map. Mr. McMurdie’s Conditional Use will also be looked at on Wednesday’s meeting at 8:00 p.m.
7. Water Ordinance Discussion of Revisions: MOTION: Council member Stewart made a motion to table numbers 7 and 8 of the Town Council agenda until next meeting in September. Unfinished Business:
Water Project – It was decided to fence around tank site and well house and to put the water line across the cemetery with the rest of the water system money. Council member Stewart discussed the bids he had received for the fencing. Council member Stewart received bids from Custom Fence, Cascade Fencing in Garland and Prestige West Fencing from Bear River City. Prestige West’s bid came in at a better bid. Council member Bingham said that he does a good job so he will contact them to see if they are bonded and if he did the bid from the engineer’s specs. It was decided to hold off on accepting any of the bids until Wednesday night’s meeting.
MOTION: Council member Bingham made a motion that the Town approves the Mayor to talk to the attorney about the North tank road regarding the safety issue, and to purchase the orange barrels and grading the road. Council Member Reports:
Mayor Thayne discussed a meeting that he went to with the County. Lamar Sayers from the state was there to help the towns decide what to do with the State Coffers. See Attached Information. .
