Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting

Visitors:  Shane & Chelsea Bennett, Joe Kliger, Jeff Stocking (Sierra Homes), Kent McMurdie 

 

1.      Welcome:  Nathan Spackman:  Chair.  Mr. Dale Meservy gave the opening prayer and Nate Spackman gave the pledge of allegiance. 

2.     Approval of Planning Commission Minutes: Marlene Berger made a motion  to adopt the April 5, 2012 minutes,. Dale Meservy seconded .the motion.

3.     Bennett Property—House addition:  There was a discussion of the property line.  The house addition is set back 60 feet. The address is 9484 No. Hwy 38 It is a single level home. The application and information for approval was given to them.  Dale Meservy made a motion  to approve the plans and Marlene Berger seconded the motion.

4.      Sierra Homes – Alan Zobrist pole barn—The barn will be less than 35’ tall.  They are requesting a pole to put in power.  Mr. Stocking will email the total square feet. The front setback is 30 feet, each side is 15 feet.  Dale Merservy made the motion to approve the plans.  Marlene Berger seconded the motion.

5.     Brent Craven -  moving of log cabin—Marlene Berger had talked to Mayor Thayne about moving the cabin to the park and  the Mayor was in favor.  Mr. Craven would be willing to donate the cabin to town.  It would need to be placed on a foundation.  It is believed that Mr. Ray McAllistar  had a still hidden in a hole in the floor years ago.  Mr. Craven has asked the local paper to take pictures and ask if anyone has any information on the cabin.  Originally, Lucinda Gardner built the cabin moved  it to the current location.  She was born in 1875. Mr. Kliger will evaluate the cost of moving the cabin to the park.    If this doesn’t work,  Mr. Craven wants approval to move the cabin.  It has to be placed with the setbacks of 30 feet in front and at least 15 from sides. Mr. Craven has six months to move the cabin. Mr. McMurdie volunteered to help with the moving Marlene Berger made the motion  to approve  moving of the cabin.  Dale Meservy seconded the motion.

6.      Hansen & Associates—McMurdie property line adjustment:  Mr. Porter Hueser  needs more frontage. Mr.  Huesser wants to buy the 50 ft of frontage from Mr.  McMurdie.   Mr. Hueser is not going to do anything with the property right now.  Mr. McMurdie will bring in the mylar to Town Council after approval.  Mr. Hueser has UDOT approval for access at the house  if he puts in a gravel driveway.  Mr. Gregg Hansen has the mylar.  Marlene Berger made the motion  to approve the property line adjustment.  Dale Meservy seconded  the motion.
