Fireworks and fires 2016



Please note: you are responsible for all costs involved in fighting any fires caused by lighting fires or fireworks, whether you have a burn permit or not. Burn permits are not issued until October.

RESOLUTION __7-16-04_______

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE DEWEYVILLE TOWN COUNCIL INACTING A FIRE RESTRICTION ORDER WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF DEWEYVILLE.

 

WHEREAS, the Deweyville Town Council has determined it necessary to align the town with the State Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands pertaining to Fire Restrictions stated in an order signed and dated 7/7/16. (See attached document).

WHEREAS, it is prudent and wise due to the current and forecasted weather conditions coupled with the extremely dry conditions in Northern Utah that a fire restriction order be established.

WHEREAS, Deweyville Town feels it necessary to enact this resolution to help protect against loss of life and property due to fire.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE DEWEYVILLE TOWN COUNCIL, that the following acts are prohibited for the 2016 fire season or until further notice:

 

  1. Setting, building, maintaining, attending or using open fires of any kind accept those authorized by the County Fire Marshall.

 

  1. Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in and area a least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared to mineral soil.

 

  1. Discharging, or using any kind of fireworks, tracer ammunition or other pyrotechnics devices including explosive targets.

 

  1. Cutting, welding or grinding metal in areas of dry vegetation.

 

The following persons are exempted for the above prohibitions:

 

  1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the prohibited act at a specific location.

 

  1. Any State or Federal Fire Officer or firefighting forces in the performances of an official duty.

 

Effective immediately upon adopting by the Deweyville Town Council this 14th day of July, 2016.
